Try our fresh homemade Roti ( thin flat rounded pancake-like bread) cooked on a traditional Tawa (metal plate). With its roots in India the humble roti crossed the ocean to the Caribbean in the mid 1800s. Through many generations the roti has been a traditional dish eaten with most meals and has evolved into many types including: Dhal Puri, a roti filled with ground lentils, Jeera (cumin) and fresh seasoning, and Paratha, a roti made with a special folding (layering) technique resulting ia a soft, light and tasty bread. In Trinidad and Tobago this paratha is broken up into many pieces,''Bus-up-shot'' and eaten with many dishes yumm ...!
